I am in a group at school call Peer Facilitators (PF). In PF we meet with sixth graders, about once a month. Sixth grade is a tough time for some kids so we're there for them through their struggles. We help them with their transitioning from elementary school to middle school, which some of them find a very scary thing. We're also there for them if they have any other problems, whether it be minor or serious. More kids than you think need some extra attention, so most of all we're there to just be a friend to the students. I like the fact that the younger kids can look up to be and that i know i can set a good example for them.
Yesterday the Peer Facilitators took a trip to Camp Carson. It was so much fun. We did a lot of team building activities, that helped us learn how to work together and listen to one another's ideas. We also did a lot of activities that would have been hard to complete without the support of our classmates. I think that the trip was really good for us and helped us become better leaders.
